Making a List

I find that making a list of things I enjoy, or things that calm me down, help me to relax if I’m triggered. Not completely, of course, but it certainly helps me to focus on more positive things. I highly recommend for you to practice making a list, and referring back to it when things get really bad. Here’s a list of some of the things I enjoy, or things that calm me down:

A cat when it’s purring

Rain, thunder, and wind sounds

Campfire sounds

Wolves howling

Silence

Writing

Singing

Photography (digital or polaroid)

Hanging out with my boyfriend

Beautiful music from a different country (example: Chinese flute)

Martial arts moves–just watching the moves and developing an interest in learning

Cuddling

Kisses

Chocolate

Exercising

Silence after a long day

There’s probably more, but off the top of my head, that’s what I thought of. What’s your list?
