Welcome To My Blog!

Hello! Welcome to Misophonia Weekly. This blog is about my struggles with a neurological condition by the name of misophonia. What is this condition, exactly? To put it simply, misophonia is the hatred of certain sounds. It causes a fight/flight/freeze reaction in the sufferer. Some of the sounds that trigger this reaction are chewing, gulping, smacking, silverware hitting plates, forks/spoons etc. hitting against teeth, Styrofoam or glass cups hitting the table, repeated foot tapping, and my worst one, S sounds. This condition currently has no cure. This all might sound like a joke, but the reality of the situation is that it’s not. I wish I was making this up and wasn’t actually angered about everyday sounds, but I am. My name is Sharon, and I hope that as this blog is updated about every week, you’ll come to understand the struggles I go through and how I cope with an invisible illness.
