Hello! Welcome to Misophonia Weekly’s first event: Positive Vibes!

I wanted to do something so that other people can participate with the blog. This is your blog as much as it is mine, and I want to include everyone. The purpose of the event is to incorporate other people’s experiences with misophonia in one of my weekly blog posts (or two if needed). If you have misophonia, you have the opportunity to talk about all or one of the following:

-Positive ways of coping (examples: listening to music; practicing some sort of hobby. **NOTE** Do not promote any “cures”, I will not accept those because there is no cure for misophonia)
-Your story
-Someone in your life who supports you

This isn’t JUST for misophonia sufferers! If you’ve come across this event and there’s a person in your life who has misophonia, you have the opportunity to talk about one or all of the following:

-How you support this person
-When you found out the person had misophonia and how it affected your relationship in a POSITIVE way (Examples: more open minded/tolerant; researched about misophonia so as to help this person; doing things for them you didn’t do before so as to accommodate them).

-Words of encouragement (Examples: “You’re strong, brave, and never give up.” “Never stop fighting.”)

***There’s no limit on how short/long responses should be, as long as they are easy to read***

The event is called “Positive Vibes” because that’s what this blog is all about: positivity; as well as support, love, and kindness towards those who suffer from this. Your responses should focus on the good that has come out of misophonia. Those victories. The ways you cope. The people who support you (online or in person). This might be tough, but it’s a good exercise, trust me. And if you’re not a sufferer, your responses should also focus on the positive.

WHERE TO SEND YOUR RESPONSES: You may message your responses by contacting me via the “contact form” here: http://misophoniaweekly.com/about/contact/ Don’t forget to state whether you are a misophonia sufferer or if you know someone with misophonia. If you’re feeling bold and don’t mind others seeing your response, simply comment your response below and do not use your real name for your own privacy. Remember, these responses will be featured in a blog post. Don’t hesitate to message me with any questions!

You also may have seen this event on Facebook. The event page is not loading properly or at all for some people, myself included, but I haven’t deleted it. If it loads for you, you may check it out here: https://www.facebook.com/events/867703490033718/ The Facebook event will be available to those who prefer it. In the future, all events, if any more, will be held on misophoniaweekly.com

Edit: Early sign-ups are now open! Furthermore, you are not required to leave your phone number or “log in” in order to sign up for the event. There is also an option to leave a “comment” when signing up for the event. You may leave your response there if you wish.
